Humane Society takes in 105 cats from one home

GUELPH – The Guelph Human Society (GHS) took 105 cats from one household into its care, Jan. 22-24.

Staff were busy doing wellness checks, vaccinations, microchipping, parasite control, spaying and neutering.

GHS asked for community support, estimating the cost $20,000. Within 72 hours, over $30,000 was donated.

“We are overwhelmed by the support we are receiving from our community,” said Louise Frost, communications manager at GHS.

Most of the cats were in fair condition, though some needed urgent care.

GHS will update the community when they are available for adoption. To donate money or supplies, or for other ways to help, go to guelphhumane.ca.
