Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) officials want to warn residents and area businesses that a misleading book campaign currently making the rounds in the Wellington North area is not affiliated with LMH or its foundation.

Officials say representatives of a company promoting the Healing Hands Busy Book have approached local business owners and requested they make donations to send activity books to children at the hospital.

“This company is not affiliated with LMH in any way and the books are not distributed to children at the hospital,” stated hospital officials.

LMH and its foundation are advising the public that this group has not been supported or given permission to fundraise on behalf of either organization. The company is not a charitable organization, officials add.

Jerome Quenneville, North Wellington Health Care CEO said, “We are concerned by the suggestion that the hospital supports this campaign. There is absolutely no connection with this company and there is no way of quantifying what this company has done with its so-called donations.”
