Harvest Tea for Mozambique

St. John’s and St. James churches in Elora and Fergus are holding a Harvest Tea on Sept. 21 to raise money for Solar Suitcases.

Solar Suitcases provide portable, cost-effective power for critical lighting, mobile communication devices and medical devices in areas without electricity.

In Mozambique, one in 40 pregnant women die while giving birth. With the Solar Suitcase, health care providers can see at night for routine deliveries and surgical procedures, and can diagnose and treat birth complications. A donation of $2,500 can buy a solar suitcase. The churches hope to raise enough funds, along with matching government to equip one clinic with a solar suitcase.

This event, held from 2 to 4pm at the Butterfly Garden, is sponsored by Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)

Admission is $8 at the door.
