Guess who’s coming to town?

ELORA – The Elora Lions Club is rolling out the red carpet for Santa Claus and officials hope the whole community will attend.

The Santa Claus Parade is set for Nov. 26 beginning at 6:15pm.

Floats are to arrive at the staging site on Sophia Street at 5:15pm.

The theme this year is “Parade of Lights” and all floats must be lit.

Anyone still wishing to enter a float should visit eloralions.org, download a registration form and submit it.

Commercial floats pay a $100 entry fee but entry fees are waived for floats for non-profit organizations.

But everyone must pre-register and meet all the other requirements, organizers say.

That includes the rule that all floats must be lit and no one can leave a float in the parade, except for a medical emergency.

For those planning the best place to watch the parade, here’s the parade route:

– parade commences at the corner of Sophia and Geddes Streets;

– south on Geddes;

– east on Mill Street East; and

– parade ends at Bissell Park.

Get there early to get a good spot, organizers advise.

And bundle up in case it’s a cold evening.

The Centre Wellington Food Bank will have a float in the parade and will be collecting donations of food during the event.
