Guelph, Wellington bringing out big guns for King Charles’ coronation

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Several events have been organized locally to note the Coronation of King Charles III on May 6.

The Guelph Legion Branch 234 is bringing out the big guns with a 21-gun salute by the 11th Field Artillery Regiment on May 6 beginning at 10am.

The legion is located at 57 Watson Parkway, at the corner of York Road.

“So bring your ear plugs if loud noises bother you,” organizers say.

This will be followed by refreshments in the Legion Lounge and the Guelph Pipe Band will play outside the legion after the ceremony.

Harriston United Church is holding a Coronation Tea on May 6 in honour of King Charles from 1:30 to 3:30pm at the church.

The event is admission by donation and there will be royal memorabilia displayed.
