Guelph man charged with human trafficking

GUELPH – A Guelph man has been charged with human trafficking and forcible confinement.

According to an Aug. 9 press release, Guelph Police Service’s Human Trafficking Unit started an investigation in June. As a result of the investigation, on [Aug. 8], a 34-year-old male was arrested and charged with trafficking in person, procuring, forcible confinement and withholding documents. He was held for a bail hearing.

(Guelph Police do not provide the names of those charged).

“The Guelph Police Service is working with community agencies to ensure the victim has been provided adequate supports,” police stated.
