Guelph-Eramosa seeks public input for Rockmosa Park

Guelph-Eramosa is seeking community input into the creation of a long-term vision for Rockmosa Park.

The township recently purchased 21.4 acres of land to expand the existing Rockmosa Park on Christie Street in Rockwood.

In order to receive community input on the design and master plan for the park, the township has launched an online, interactive tool, called Mindmixer, for people to share and exchange ideas.  Participation in the discussion is easy and members of the public can join the online conversation by visiting www.get.on.ca/rockmosapark.

In addition to the online discussion, the township will also be holding a community design workshop at Rockmosa Community Centre on Sept. 23 at 7pm. This meeting will allow residents to share ideas, imagine, draw on maps and interact with each other and township representatives.

“Community input is critical for this project and we are excited to provide innovative ways for people to communicate their ideas,” said Mayor Chris White. “We want the public to be part of developing the long-term vision of Rockmosa Park and I encourage everyone to have their say and participate in this exciting design process.”

Director of parks and recreation Robin Milne stated that, “it is so important that we hear from as many residents as possible through our online engagement tool and at the design meeting … to ensure the expansion meets the needs of the community.”

Based on feedback and consultations, three design concepts will be developed and made available in October for comment. For information contact Milne at 519-856-9596 ext. 110 or rmilne@get.on.ca.
