Groups remind everyone of services to help find missing children

In Spring 2010, Child Find Ontario became affiliated with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc. (CCCP), and since that time, both organizations have worked together to deliver quality missing children services in the Province of Ontario.

The CCCP is a charitable organization dedicated to the personal safety of all children. It offers four national programs  – Cybertip.ca, MissingKids.ca, Kids in the Know, and Commit to Kids – as well as other services and resources to Canadians, in order to help them better protect children.

On May 24, 2011, the CCCP launched MissingKids.ca, a national online resource centre to provide information and support to families and others searching for missing children.

Missing children services are now delivered in Ontario through the MissingKids.ca program. To learn more about MissingKids.ca and to find out more ways on how you can become involved, visit www.missingkids.ca

Officials also encourage people to sign up to receive messages from the MissingKids alert system.

If a search for a missing child occurs in a local area, a poster with the missing child’s information will be emailed or faxed to those who have signed up for the alert system, which provides rapid and targeted distribution of information with regard to a missing child.

Taking part in the MissingKids alert system could result in the location of a missing child. Visit missingkidsalert.ca to sign up today.  When more people know, more people are looking.
