Gregg Allan named Volunteer of the Year in Puslinch
'I get more than I give ... I proudly accept the award': Allan
ABERFOYLE – Gregg Allan has been named Volunteer of the Year in Puslinch Township.
Allan received recognition at the May 6 council meeting with a large group of supporters crowding the council chamber.
Mayor James Seeley lauded Allan for his “dedicated leadership” in organizations that support education, health care, community service, heritage, fundraising, the Farnham cemetery and as alumni of the University of Guelph.
Allan is also outgoing president of the Optimist Club of Puslinch, a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society and helps the Guelph Legion, Seeley stated.
“He’s always willing to lend a hand and has given outstanding service and dedication” to local causes, Seeley added.
“And he also holds council to account.”
“I get more than I give,” Allan said, adding his return is in recognition.
“A wink, a smile, a hand-written note, a hug. It tells me I might have made a small difference.
“I proudly accept the award.”
