Genealogical society meeting is March 27

Speaker  Dr. Andrew Ross will be featured at the Genealogical Society’s March 27 meeting here.

His topic will be High performance computing and family history.

Ross, from the University of Guelph, will talk about the census project at the university and the goal to link people from the Canadian, American and British Census 1851-1911 using high-performance computing strategies.

Though not applicable to genealogical research per se, the sets of linked records will be of interest to those looking to set their ancestors in historical context.

Everyone is welcome.

The meeting is at 7pm at the Zehr’s meeting room, second floor at 1045 Paisley Road.
