Gear up for autumn at Erin Fall Fair

Erin Fall Fair is celebrating Canada’s 150th year all weekend long, Oct. 5 to 9.

Events range from 4-H shows, equine events and musical entertainment, sure to get everyone in the mood for the fall season.

On Oct. 5, events kick off with a toonie night to see the Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off and a pumpkin carving contest.

Catch the Teen Battle of the Bands on the outdoor stage on Friday as well as the truck pull, ambassador competition and opening ceremonies.

Saturday starts with the hunter/jumper show at 8:30am and finishes with the tractor pull at 6pm, with dozens of events in between. Horse, cattle, goat and pet shows take place throughout the day. Giggle at the baby show at 11am and cheer on the 4-H’ers Little Royal at 1pm. Saturday’s special entertainment is the Muir Family Band at 7pm.

Sunday is an action-packed day with events like Ontario barrel racing, pie eating contest, kids pedal pulls, visiting ambassadors’ cake auction and farmers and kids Olympics.

For Sunday night’s entertainment catch the demolition derby at 6:30pm at the track followed by fireworks.

Monday is all about equine events with the Canadian Cowgirls taking the track at 10:30am followed by the all-horse parade and the commemorative mile lap.

All weekend long explore the agricultural awareness tent, antique tractor display and the kids’ zone.
