Wellington County will complete the rehabilitation of two pedestrian bridges on the Tressle Bridge Trail in Aboyne with financial assistance from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.

Last June the county applied for funding to complete the rehabilitation of the bridges, explained treasurer Ken DeHart in a Feb. 21 report to the county’s administration, finance and human resources committee.

In late December staff was notified the application was approved for funding of $49,500, representing 33% of the total project costs. During the 2017 budget process additional finds were allocated to this project, for a total budget of $180,000. County council approved a funding agreement that sets out project budgets and timing.
