Fronch porch thoughs

The query that surfaces frequent, I don’t question why who asked.                     Where lies the once-was poetry,                        like you’ve written in the past?

Well, the mood just hasn’t possessed me; nothing stirs within my head. Since I lost my Little Lady, as you know,  she’s been long dead.

In my mind, she’s strong in memory; her name I’m prone to mutter. I know that time is not a healer,                   as friends oft’ times claim and utter.

Her spirit lingers with me always; being gone is like yesterday.                      Her hand’s touch I feel on my shoulder, as she directs me now, what to say.

Being gone forefronts her memory; to me that thought’s divine.                     Time and health are quietly whispering, that I won’t now be long behind.

Even though I’m years behind her, and could well be considered late,                 It’s my belief that she’ll be waiting,                      with outstretched arms at the golden gate.

What more could I want?

And from one of my faraway long-time readers comes this, a riddle for seniors. Here is the situation:

You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed. On your right side is a sharp drop-off. On your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the kangaroo.

What must you do to get out of this highly dangerous situation?

I should make you wait until next week for the answer, but I won’t!

Get off the merry-go-round and go home!

Lucky for me I have a little space left and lucky for you I have remembered to tell you that the Saugeen Valley Fur and Feather Fanciers Association’s buy-sell-trade day is Oct. 4. I hope to see you there.

Take care, ‘cause we care.
