Freedom from Addiction Golf Classic tees off on July 15

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The second annual Freedom from Addiction charity golf tournament is returning to Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club.

Participants can join Portage Ontario organizers on the green for a day of fun while supporting youth.

Portage Ontario is a non-profit organization, established in 1985, operating a residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for youth in Elora.

“We all know someone, whether a family member, friend, or colleague, who has been affected by addiction in some way,” officials say.

“It wreaks havoc on our society and it is our shared responsibility to help young people who are suffering before it’s too late.”

At Portage, they can acquire the skills to free themselves from the grasp of addiction, officials say.

“It will assure them a better future, and benefit all of society,” officials add.

Registration and lunch will begin at 10:30am, and there will be a shotgun start at noon. There is a $175 fee which includes golf, lunch and dinner.

Be part of a community ready to bring awareness to the Portage Residential Treatment Centre in Elora and support vulnerable Ontario youth working to combat their substance dependency and go on to lead healthy, productive and drug-free lives.
