GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Police are once again asking for clues to help them solve a five-year-old murder case.
On the evening of Aug. 4, 2020, a passerby found the body of Mohamed Amin Ismail, 25, of Ottawa, on Watson Road just south of Wellington Road 124, east of Guelph.
An autopsy a couple of days later confirmed the man was murdered.
“Investigators are renewing the appeal for individuals to come forward with information, no matter how small the detail may seem,” stated an Aug. 11 press release from the Wellington County OPP.
Police say people in Wellington County, Kitchener-Waterloo and Ottawa may have information that can help determine what happened to Ismail.
“Despite the passage of five years, investigators know that there are those in the community who have vital information that can help bring resolution to Mohamed’s family,” stated OPP detective inspector Michael Moore.
“We urge those individuals to please come forward to assist our investigators.”
