First folk festival coming this weekend

The BIA here has added the Fergus Folk Fes­tival to it’s annual Art Walk on Sunday for the first time.

The show is held con­cur­rently with Doors Open Fergus Elora. The Art Walk is a setting for artists and artisans to show off and sell their works to an anticipated 3,500 visitors.

Its is expected the art being shown will include; painting, sculp­ture, photography, print-mak­ing, fabric art, jewellery, and metal work

The Art Walk will be on a circuit along St. Andrew Street West, across the Grand River at Templin Gardens, in front of The Fergus Market and then back to St Andrew Street. It will run 10am to 4pm.

The Folk Festival runs 2pm to 9pm. Between 10 and 12 acts are planned. The festival will take place in the Fergus Market Parking lot. Some of the performers include: Cindy Clasper, Peter Mandic Band,   John Lodge, Adam Shaw and Ken Brown.
