Fire deemed suspicious

On Dec. 28 at approximately 10:36am Wellington County OPP officers responded along with the Town of Erin Fire and Rescue Services to a residential fire located on Sideroad 24 in the Town of Erin.

It is believed the fire originated from a wood fireplace.  The homeowners were not in the residence when the fire broke out. The damage to the residence was extensive and the fire is deemed to be suspicious.

The OPP Crime Unit is assisting investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office with the investigation.
