Festival showcases Mahler by candlelight
Elora Festival Singers with guest organist David Briggs will stage an enchanting autumn performance on Oct. 17 at St. John’s Church in Elora.
The program will include:
- Ave Maria - Based on the Adagietto from Symphony No. 5. with arrangement by Adrian Connell and performed by an eight-part mixed choir and harp; and
- Symphony #2 in C Minor - Performed by The Ressurection Symphony with organ transcription by David Briggs, artist-in-residence at St. James Cathedral, Toronto and also organist Emeritus of Gloucester Cathedral, UK. The soloists are alto Christina Stelmacovich and soprano Julia Morson.
