Fergus Pipe band hosts Robbie Burns Supper

On Jan. 21 the Fergus Pipe Band presents a Traditional Robbie Burns Supper at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 275) in Fergus.

The evening will include a buffet supper, an Address to a Haggis by John K. Campbell, Toast to the Lassies and to the Lads, music by Thistlebank as well as a performance by the Fergus Pipe Band.

Robert Burns was an 18th century Scottish poet and lyricist who retains the designation of the “national poet of Scotland.”

His birth is celebrated world-wide annually on or about Jan. 25. The most important thing about a Burns Supper is to have fun, officials say, as the man being honoured was not opposed to a wee party himself.

Now in its 90th year, the Fergus Pipe Band looks forward to welcoming friends, old and new, to join them in a celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns.

Tickets are $35 until Jan. 14 and $40 after. Tickets may be purchased at Ron Wilkin Jewellers (Fergus), The Scottish Shop (Fergus), Elora-Fergus Tourism Information Centre and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 (Fergus)  or contact info@ferguspipeband.com or any member of the Fergus Pipe Band.

Tickets may be purchased at the door, subject to availability.
