Fergus library finds temporary home

This community will have a temporary library building when renovations to the current library start later this year.

Wellington County will rent space for the temporary library at 181 St. Andrew St. East, adjacent to the downtown Tim Hortons.

The $2,571 monthly lease arrangement will be between the county and Stone Gable Inc. and will include utilities and outdoor maintenance.

The county will be responsible for telephone, computer internet and janitorial services. The lease is expected to run from March 1 this year to Dec. 31, 2014 and can be extended on a monthly basis if needed.

The library board is also hosting a public session at its meeting on March 13 where the redesign of the Fergus library will be unveiled.

The architect will present the redesign to the board and public. The meeting is expected to start at 4pm, with the board meeting to follow and the architect taking questions from the public following the meeting.
