Farmalicious event begins July 20

Diners across Wellington County are invited to take part in the annual Farmalicious event, pairing farm fresh foods  from throughout Wellington County with area restaurants.

Chefs at participating venues will be creating special week-long menus that highlight local food with culinary dishes that include in-season produce, meats, poultry, breads, eggs and other home-grown foods.

The event is an initiative of Taste Real, a collective of regional food growers, producers and restaurateurs actively supporting the Taste Real brand, representing regional  foods.

Farmalicious kicks off on July 20, at the The Randy Badger restaurant, located on Highway 6 north of Guelph.

The program runs weekly until Oct. 11 at the following locations:

-July 27, Orchard House Gourmet, Guelph

– August 3, The Harvest Table, Parker

– August 10, Woolwich Arrow Pub, Guelph

– August 17, Borealis Grille & Bar, Guelph

– August 24, Cork Restaurant, Elora

– Aug. 31, La Cucina, Guelph

– Sept. 7,  Envers of Morriston, Morriston

– Sept. 14, Fifty West Restaurant and Bar, Delta Guelph Hotel

– Sept. 21, Brew House on the Grand, Fergus

– Sept. 28, Drayton Chop House, Drayton

– Oct. 5, The Breadalbane Inn, Fergus

– Oct. 9, The University of Guelph

Participants who share their Farmalicious dining experience on Facebook and Twitter are eligible to win a $50 gift certificate to a participating Taste Real location.
