Low income tax clinics are being offered through East Wellington Community Services this year.
The tax returns are completed by a trained volunteer for individuals and families who qualify with the following income levels:
– up to $30,000 for a single person;
– up to $35,000 for one adult with child;
– up to $40,000 for a married or common-law couple;
– plus $2,500 for each additional dependent.
Residents do not qualify if the person has income: interest income over $1,000, capital gains or losses, bankruptcy or self employment, rental business income.
Clients should bring all their slips and if available, the Notice of Assessment from the 2011 tax year.
