Erin budget process still underway

On Dec. 18, councillor Barb Tocher sought an update to the town’s budget process.

CAO Frank Miele explained that because of the timelines, they had not had the opportunity to ‘distill’ information from the budget meeting.

Part of that information includes a videotaping of the presentation by staff.

Miele added that because of that and the Christmas holidays, he did not expect anything to be ready until early January.

Councillor Deb Callaghan asked how to access the video of the budget meeting.

Miele admitted to having some technical difficulties and challenges with the files.

His own computer did not have a CD/DVD drive and because it is such a large media file, he said it would be difficult to email.

Councillor Josie Wintersinger asked if council could review the footage at the office.

“Absolutely. It’s on my laptop.”

Councillor John Brennan asked if the file could simply be transferred to a memory stick.

Miele said he’d try that approach.

He assured council that by the end of the week the video footage would be made available to them for review.

Council was expected to discuss the 2013 budget once again at its Jan. 8 meeting.
