Deputy-clerk Theresa Campbell is heading west – one municipality over to be exact.
Earlier this month, Minto Mayor David Anderson told council that Campbell informed him she had the opportunity to move forward in the municipal world.
Campbell accepted a position as clerk for Howick Township in Huron County.
“It’s a great opportunity for Theresa to move forward in the municipal field,” Anderson said.
“She’s not going to be far away and will still be our next door neighbour – almost within hollering range,” he quipped.
In her letter to council she said “after careful consideration” she was submitting her formal notice of resignation. I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the support and opportunities the Town of Minto provided me during my employment.”
Anderson expressed his congratulations.
“We will miss you, but we know you’re not too far away,” Anderson said.
Council members joked about whether or not they had a vote on it and if they should accept the resignation.
