Dog walker assaulted

GUELPH – The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a female walking her dog Thursday evening was assaulted by a stranger.

Just after 5 p.m. an adult female was walking her dog in the area of Water Street and Maple Street when another female walked past her in the opposite direction. The unknown female turned and began following the victim, eventually getting in front of her and yelling about the victim’s dog not being on a leash.

The subject female pushed the victim in the chest, causing her to fall backwards into a hedge. The victim was not injured.

The female was described as white, mid-20s, slim build with short, dirty-blonde hair and acne on her face. She was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and dark orange khaki-style pants.
