Dog, men rescued

What could have been a tragedy was avoided last weekend when emergency responders pulled a dog and two men from the Grand River here.

Just after 1pm on Sept. 21 firefighters, OPP and ambulance were called to the Elora Gorge for a water rescue.

Police say “two males entered the water to rescue a dog in distress and encountered difficulty.”

Centre Wellington firefighters “attended and assisted in getting the males and dog to safety,” police say, adding there were no injuries to report in the incident.
