Does “˜county standard”™ meet needs of residents

Part of recent strategic discussions at Wellington County took a brief look at whether the county standard is meeting the needs of its residents.

At a recent Centre Wellington council meeting, Mayor Kelly Linton noted the discussions are just a first step at looking at some of the ‘big picture questions’.

“We talked about customer satisfaction … and how do we know Wellington County ratepayers are happy with the services provided by the county.”

He noted there was also discussion on how to better improve communications with citizens.

“Potentially some actions will be coming out of that.”

Linton said there was also discussion about the ‘county standard’ when the upper tier does work on roads, bridges or facilities.

He explained the county often refers to its ‘standard’ as a certain level of quality.

Linton said his question was “How do we know this reflects the views of the taxpayer. We had a really good discussion on that.”
