Cyclist dies of injuries sustained in crash with trailer on Sept. 14
A 15-year-old male cyclist injured by a trailer four weeks ago has died from his injuries.
The accident occurred on Sept. 14 at approximately 1:12pm. Wellington County OPP received a call regarding the serious collision involving a young cyclist that was struck by a utility trailer that detached from a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 109 about 2km east of Arthur in former West Garafraxa Township.
Marc Machado, 15, of Wellington North, succumbed to his injuries on Oct. 3 at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.
The investigation is continuing and Wellington County OPP urge any person with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122, or the nearest police authority or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222 -8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.crimestoppersguelphwellington.com.
