CW group hosting town hall meeting

The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business Town Hall on June 7 at 7pm at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

As the municipal budget has been approved and the construction season is starting, the chamber wanted a way for businesses to get facts about projects that will impact their business. The meeting will feature presentations from:

– director of public works Ken Elder who will talk to road and bridge projects and infrastructure deficits in the municipality;

– director of parks and  recreation Andy Goldie, to talk about parks and recreation project and park and trails and active transportation projects;

– president of Centre Wellington Hydro Doug Sherwood, on retrofit assistance programs and conservation strategies for business; and

– and councillor Walt Visser, to speak to current approved development applications within the municipality and infrastructure planning.

There will be a time after the presentations for questions.

The chamber’s business and government affairs committee has met with municipal department heads, county officials, MP and MPP and is currently focussing on municipal issues.
