The Concerned Residents Coalition (CRC) is bringing its 4th Annual Plant Sale fundraiser into downtown Rockwood on the long May weekend.

The sale is on May 20 from 8am to 1pm at the REMAX office at Highway 7 and Wellington Road 27.

Among the spring planting offerings will be heirloom vegetables, herbs, perennials, house plants and annuals as well as expert advice based on years of gardening experience.

Lost Horizons Garden Centre, located on Highway 7 just east of Rockwood and known far and wide for its rare and unusual plants, is once again donating plants to the CRC sale.

CRC supporters are also donating perennials.

This will be also be an opportunity to learn more about the proposed “Hidden Quarry” to be located within 1,000 metres of Rockwood, right next to Highway 7 and in the valuable natural water recharging system known as the Paris-Galt Moraine.

The Concerned Residents Coalition opposes this quarry, which would be blasted 23 metres below the water table on a site which is now forest, creek, wetland and tree plantation.

All proceeds will support the CRC.
