Crash injures Erin man

On Aug. 7, around 5pm Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services were called to a single motor vehicle collision at Side Road 10 and 4th Line, Town of Erin.

A 2006 GMC Van was traveling east on Sideroad 10 when it left the roadway and rolled over. The driver, Garrett Hurgett, 22,  from the Town of Erin, sustained life threatening injuries and was transported by Ornge Air Ambulance to a Hamilton hospital. The passenger a 23-year-old East Garafraxa Township man, was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.

The intersection remained closed for approximately six hours as Wellington County OPP, assisted by West Region OPP technical collision investigators, investigated.

Police are asking any witnesses to the collision to contact the investigating officer, Provincial Constable Kelly Krpan at 1-888-310-1122.
