County offers Christmas tree recycling service

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Natural Christmas trees will be collected in urban areas only in Wellington County during the week of Jan. 10.

County officials ask that people have their trees out by 7am on Monday. However, officials note trees may not be collected until later that week and thank the public for their patience.

Natural trees will be accepted free of charge at all county waste facilities until Jan. 29 during regular operating hours.

Food bank donations are gratefully accepted.

A number of service clubs and organizations will also be providing curbside collection of natural Christmas trees. These collections occur in various locations across the county.

Visit www.wellington.ca/sws for information on these programs.
