Council waives fee for comedy night

BRUCEDALE – Guelph-Eramosa council has agreed to waive the rental fee at Rockmosa Community Centre in Rockwood for the On Fire Comedy Night.

All proceeds from the event, to be held Nov. 16, 7 to 11pm, support the Guelph-Eramosa Firefighters Association and their charitable efforts.

Firefighters David Aubrey and Kurt McArthur appeared before council at the Oct. 7 meeting, and thanked council for its support.

Mayor Chris White said it is important to promote community events like the comedy night, since it “keeps us small and rural.”

Tickets are $30, available on Eventbrite through the Guelph-Eramosa Fightfighters Facebook page. There will be three comedians performing, with refreshments available.
