Council retains counsel for Swastika Trail

Puslinch council has retained legal counsel regarding an application for a judicial review regarding a decision not to rename Swastika Trail.

In closed session on May 2, councillors heard the confidential verbal report from Karen Landry, CAO/Clerk regarding litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board with respect to an application for judicial review – Swastika Trail.

The result of the discussion was that staff were to proceed as directed.

Shortly thereafter in open session, Mayor Dennis Lever explained “the township has retained counsel with regards to Swastika Trail and are proceeding accordingly.”
