Council presented with CIP guidelines

On April 19, Centre Wellington’s committee of the whole received draft guidelines for community initiated projects that will enhance local facilities and services.

A copy of the draft guidelines will be posted to the township’s website for public review at centrewellington.ca and presented to council for approval this summer.

“The goal of providing guidelines is to establish the basis for us to continue our support for these initiatives while facilitating open, transparent and equitable implementation” said Brian Detzler, managing director of community services.

“In order to provide a consistent and equitable review process, these types of initiatives will be received and reviewed by the Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC).”

These measures will be individually scored by members of the committee.

The application will then be forwarded to council for consideration based upon the application achieving a passing score.

The township has already seen community participation toward enhancing facilities and services such as the accessible play structures Stait Park and South Ridge Park. A beginner BMX track was designed and installed on park land in Harper Park.
