Get ready for some additional construction in Elora this spring and summer.
The reconstruction of Victoria Street from York to McNab Street (the roundabout on Metcalfe St./Wellington Road 21) in Elora begins the week of March 27.
During construction until mid-July, the street will be closed to through traffic.
Local access will also be interrupted at various times during this period.
The project will include roadworks, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, new sidewalks, curb and gutters along with the planting 10 new trees.
The Township makes every effort to protect and preserve existing trees through construction projects.
A certified arborist will be used to assess mature trees within construction areas and to provide a recommendation regarding tree management.
As part of this construction project, a total of seven trees will need to be removed to facilitate municipal service installation or due to poor condition.
Each year the Township plants over 250 trees to beautify and provide natural benefits to our community.
