Committee unhappy with council decision

Current members of the town’s committee of adjustment (COA) were not happy with a recent decision by council to take over the committee.

Councillor Barb Tocher told council last week that COA members feel they have important information to bring to the table and would like to discuss the move with council.

The COA is an independent body appointed by council, under authority granted by the Province of Ontario, including some members from the public.

Tocher said she wouold like a report from the town manager, and maybe even the town planner, on the matter.

Clerk Kathryn Ironmonger confirmed COA members would attend council’s first meeting of the new year – scheduled for Jan. 11 at 7:30pm – to discuss the move.
