City Legion will join yellow ribbon campaign

The Colonel John McCrae Memorial Branch 234 Royal Canadian Legion here has joined the yellow ribbon campaign to welcome home and thank troops now returning from Afghanistan.

Comrade Bill Chisolm and his shuffleboard teammates at the Legion have been busy making 400 yellow ribbon lapel pins with a Canadian flag in the middle.

Legion members are asking members of the public to join them in proudly wearing a yellow ribbon in August and September to show support to all Canada’s troops and welcome them home.

The ribbons are available at the Legion for a minimum donation of $1.

Guelph Legion officials also thank Helen and Kelly Dorman for arranging to have large yellow ribbons made and displayed at the front entrance.

Officials are also encouraging Guelph residents to display large yellow ribbons on their properties.
