City chief financial officer leaves after week on job

The city has lost another senior officer.

Guelph announced the hiring of chief financial officer Dan Chapman only weeks ago and now he has resigned. A press release from the city stated it was  “for personal reasons.”

City staff learned of Chapman’s resignation the afternoon of Oct. 28 when he informed chief Administrative officer Ann Pappert of his decision. Pappert herself was hired only a few months ago. Chapman had started his work with Guelph on Oct. 24.

The press release said Chapman plans to return to the City of Kitchener where he had served as deputy chief administrative officer with the finance and corporate services department.
