Municipal officials here have issued a warning about door-to-door sales reps posing as employees of the township.

A Sept. 30 press release issued by Centre Wellington communications coordinator Kendra Martin states "several concerned citizens" notified the township about
water treatment/filtration sales representatives claiming to work for the township.

"Township staff would like to advise that we do not go door to door to sell anything," states the press release.

"If we need to discuss, inspect or complete a repair, we will contact you in advance, by mail, or by phone to schedule a time.  If township staff visit your home, they will have proper identification and will typically be in an official Township of Centre Wellington vehicle."

For questions or concerns about door-to-door sales people or telemarketers, residents can contact the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services (1-800-889-9768) or Centre Wellington infrastructure office at 519-846-9691 ext. 905.
