Celebrating seniors in Ontario

ONTARIO – June is Seniors Month in Ontario. This year’s theme is “stay safe, active and connected.”

“Seniors Month is a time to salute and appreciate the enormous contributions seniors and older adults have made, and continue to make, toward building Ontario into the province it is today,” minister for seniors and accessibility Raymond Cho said in a statement. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the programs and services available.

The Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility is focusing on programs and services that enable seniors to remain safe, healthy, engaged and live life to the fullest during COVID-19 and beyond:

– stay safe: Get information on vaccines and community supports to help seniors stay safe;

– stay active: Get information on programs and services to help seniors stay physically and mentally healthy;

– stay connected: Find social, cultural, learning, volunteer and recreational programs to help seniors stay socially connected.

The ministry is encouraging communities across Ontario to keep older adults informed and find safe and innovative ways to celebrate their positive impact on our lives.
