CENTRE WELLINGTON – Students from area high schools gathered at Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) on Nov. 20 to compete at a Special Olympics basketball tournament.

GUELPH – Tri-City Wrestling held its annual Tri-City Open on Nov. 22 at its Guelph location.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The U15B Grand River Mustangs team was the only local team to bring home a gold medal last weekend at the Remembrance Day Classic tournament in Centre Wellington, which included 56 teams and over 900 female athletes.

ORANGEVILLE – The Emmanuel Christian High School junior boys volleyball team won the D4 Championships held at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville on Nov. 3.

WATERLOO – The Grand River Mustangs U18 BB team captured the gold medal at the Waterloo Fall Cup tournament last weekend.

ORANGEVILLE – The Norwell District Secondary School senior boys volleyball team travelled to Westside SS in Orangeville on Nov. 3 for the District 4 playoff tournament.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Wellington Heights Senior Boys Soccer Team had another successful season under the tutelage of head coach Matt McFarlane.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Rockwood athlete Cassidy Frost has signed with Acadia University's Axewomen volleyball team for the 2026 season.

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington District High School girls basketball team played its last home game on Oct. 28, losing 42-30 to second place Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School.

TORONTO – Callum Sweeting was on the big screen at game one of the World Series at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Oct. 24.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington Heights Secondary School teachers Christine Chambers and Brittany Heffernan and head of special education Adam Teeter organized a Special Olympics soccer tournament at the high school on Oct. 17.

ELORA – Brock McKenzie of Elora and Jackson Bull of Orangeville, middle, won first place in their age group at the Hyrox Toronto 2025 competition.

KENILWORTH – On Oct. 20 Wellington North council welcomed the Arthur Aces U9 #2 squad to its meeting to recognize the team for winning the U9 “F” gold medal at the 2025 Ontario Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Grand River Mustangs U11 A team captured the championship at the Niagara Rapids Fall Classic tournament, held Sept. 19 to 21.

FERGUS - Fergus high school student and para swimmer Austin Nelissen broke a personal best and provincial record, securing a first-place finish in the 400-metre freestyle race at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Quebec in August.
