FERGUS – Tucked along the lush green banks of the Grand River in Fergus, author Sonia Day lounges on her back porch quietly reflecting on not only her latest novel, but her lifelong writing career.

BRUCEDALE – Guelph/Eramosa council has voted unanimously to provide support and supplies to the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival next month.

Dancers from the Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance competed at the Fergus Scottish Festival on August 8 to 10. 

ELORA – Crowds of visitors and the sound of music will fill much of Elora this weekend, with the 15th annual Riverfest Elora taking place at Bissell Park from Aug. 15 to 17.

PONSONBY – A 14-year-old budding concert pianist, composer, and favourite local musician, has added top prizes at the national finals of the prestigious Canadian Music Competition to his growing list of accomplishments this summer.

EDEN MILLS - The 37th annual Eden Mills Writers’ Festival runs Sept. 4 to 7 and features more than 45 Canadian authors, 45 Canadian authors, with readings, workshops and discussion panels.

GUELPH  – Last year 19 students from dance schools in Guelph and surrounding communities were selected by Ballet Jörgen to join the company’s professional cast for Guelph performances. 

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Grinder Productions presented three short plays on July 26 at the historic Ennotville Library that really gave the audience something to think about.

ROCKWOOD – The Township of Guelph/Eramosa has announced the return of its annual summer celebration, Party in the Park, on July 31 from 5 to 10pm at Rockmosa Park (120 Rockmosa Drive, Rockwood).

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – This year's Hillside Festival included 60 bands from 14 different countries.

OTTAWA – From July 5 to 9, dancers from the Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance competed at the Scotdance Canada Canadian Championships in Ottawa.
