Capital projects to proceed in Wellington North

WELLINGTON NORTH – While municipal facilities, including recreational facilities and the municipal office, remain closed indefinitely due to COVID-19, some construction projects in the township will proceed.

In a May 4 statement Mayor Andy Lennox noted some capital projects that address a safety issue and that can be done with minimal risk to workers and the public, will proceed.

The following projects are  ones officials anticipate will proceed:

– reconstruction of William Street and Fergus Street South between Wellington and King Streets in Mount Forest and Isabella and Georgina Streets in Arthur;

– watermain rehabilitation on Domville Street between Tucker and Clarke Streets in Arthur;

– sidewalk installation on King Street East, east of 440 King Street East, in Mount Forest;

– storm sewer project near 685 Queen Street West in Mount Forest;

– upgrade to Arthur Wastewater Treatment Plant;

– communication tower upgrade at Arthur fire station (Bell); and

– replacement of the furnace at Damascus Hall.
