Backstage comedy comes to Fergus

Most people have sat in a theatre watching what’s happening on stage but seldom is there an opportunity to be an invisible observer behind the scenes, having a peek at the drama behind the curtain.

Don’t Talk to the Actors by Tom Dudzick, shares with the audience a look into backstage emergencies, relationships and calamities.

Six local actors take on the roles in this backstage comedy directed by Nancy Reaume, a Fergus resident and longtime Elora Community Theatre member who has performed often on the Grand Theatre stage and is also known for her design expertise.

The plot is based on the playwright’s own past experiences when his play was unexpectedly chosen by a well-known New York Theatre Company and the story is revealed as he discovers instead of his dream coming true, his dream has transformed into a nightmare.

The “adult language”  comedy will be performed at the Fergus Grand Theater from Nov. 6 to 15 – on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and on Sunday at 2pm.  Tickets can be purcased at the theatre box office at 519-787-1981 or at fergusgrandtheatre.ca.
