WELLINGTON NORTH – Crystal and Shawn Lazenby, and their six children, ranging in age from 11 to 18, won’t be exchanging presents this Christmas. Instead, they’ll be packing stockings for residents of Birmingham Retirement Community, where Crystal has worked as a PSW since April.
CAMBRIDGE – Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) officials expressed disappointment after the provincial government passed legislation that makes substantial changes to the Conservation Authorities Act and the Planning Act.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – While it won’t be happening as soon as local officials had hoped, a move to transition responsibility for recycling to full producer responsibility is expected to save Wellington County about $2 million per year beginning in 2025.
WELLINGTON COUNTY – It appears current Warden Kelly Linton will lead the county’s governing body for two more years. Linton was the only member of Wellington County council, during a Nov. 26 meeting, to declare as a candidate for the position he has held since 2018.
