Arthur Legion gets extended liquor licences

What’s good for one Royal Canadian Legion branch is apparently good for another.

Recently the Mount Forest Legion branch applied for, and got, three liquor licence extensions for various events.

Monday night was Arthur’s turn.

Hank Pietrowski, bar stewart of the Arthur Legion branch, wrote to council noting that Arthur Legion Branch 226 officially applied for three such extensions.

The first, is for a wing night on May 15, from 4pm to 1am, the second for a pig roast on June 13 from noon to 1am, and the third, in conjunction with a golf tournament from noon to 1am.

All the events are set adjacent to the Arthur Legion building on George Street.

Councillor Ross Chaulk quipped that council should pass it because he already has his tickets for wing night.

“If we don’t do this, I don’t get my wings.”
