Arthur boy helps team win tournament

Six-year-old Cohen Hutchison of Arthur travelled to Montreal June 14 to 17 with his 2011 Elite Toronto Bulldogs hockey team to compete in the prestigious ‘AAA’ Montreal Meltdown Tournament.

The Bulldogs went 4-0 in round robin play and were undefeated entering playoffs on Sunday.

Early Sunday morning, the Bulldogs defeated the Boston Jr. Bruins in the semi-finals 15-0.

The team next played in  the finals against Quebec Jr. Lions, coached by Vincent Lecavalier, a former NHL player.

The Bulldogs came out on fire, with Hutchison opening the scoring 30 seconds into the game and adding another not long after to help lead his team to a 10-5 victory and the 2018 Montreal Meltdown Championship.

The Toronto Bulldogs roster was made up of many highly skilled 2011 born kids from all over Ontario including Arthur, Hanover, Waterloo, Barrie, Quintee and the GTA and also one travelling from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.

Cohen plays for the Elite Toronto Bulldogs in the spring and plays in the Arthur Minor Hockey League in the winter.
