Ariss Lions Club meets their sponsored hearing ear dog

On Nov. 20, several members of the Ariss and District Lions Club attended the graduation of the first dog guide they have sponsored at the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide facility in Oakville.

The dog named “Ariss”, a female champagne-coloured standard bred poodle, trained as a hearing ear dog was matched with a hearing impaired gentleman from Ottawa.

The club has set a goal to donate to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide program $58,000 to sponsor one of each of the dogs in the six dog guide programs. The programs are hearing ear, canine vision, service, seizure response, autism assistance and diabetes alert dog guides.
