Area man tops in military training

Ho and Karine Park of Clifford were  humbled to learn that Private Jin Park has graduated top of his class at Canadian Forces Base Borden.

Jin Park has been studying at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology & Engineering at Base Borden for close to three years.

On Jan. 31 at a graduation ceremony held in the theatre  there, he and nine others graduated from the Avionics Technician Course 1101.

Park accepted a Certificate of Military Achievement for successfully completing the Avionics Technician Apprentice Level Course, a Certificate of Academic Achievement for achieving the highest academic average during his training, a copy of the Technician’s Creed to hold in sacred trust the rights and privileges conferred upon him as a qualified technician, two sets of shoulder epaulets, and a course badge.

After a reception in the officer’s lounge, family and friends were allowed the privilege of touring the classroom in the hangar that housed instructional airframes and retired tutors flown by the famous Snowbird pilots.

Jin Park may soon be flying high over the world in a Harvest Hawk when he moves from flight student at Base Borden to flight technician at Canadian Forces Base Trenton 429 Squadron.
